Building Better Beekeeping Businesses after Bushfire. Wheen Bee Foundation is pleased to announce a number of $18,000 scholarships are available for commercial Beekeepers in Australia. Initially, 14 scholarships are being offered. The scholarships will fund a place in the 5Bees program pilot, provide access to and support for the integration of various hive technologies into the beekeeping business and provide a small cash incentive ($5,000) for the beekeeper to use at their discretion. The program is based on Action Learning principles with the beekeepers setting the direction and agenda of the program based on their priorities. This ensures the program is relevant and meaningful and targeted to meet the needs of the beekeeper.
The 5Bees program is funded from the Wheen Bee Foundation Bushfire Rebuild and Recovery Fund and is designed to help support beekeepers recover from bushfire and drought and implement practice changes over the longer term to improve business profitability and viability.
Applications close on 31st January 2021.
