Alan Yen Award

The Alan Yen Award for the best Oral or Poster Presentation that addresses issues in the conservation of insects and allied invertebrates was awarded to Dr Remko Leijs for his Green Carpenter Bee conservation work.

The Alan Yen Award is named in honour of the late Dr Alan Yen. It commemorates his passion and dedication of his life’s work on invertebrates, particularly in the areas of conservation, entomophagy, and biosecurity.

Nominees for the Award were assessed by members of the AES Conservation Committee at the Australian Entomological Society’s annual conference, according to the quality of the science and presentation, and the significance and outcomes of the conservation issue.
