Remembering & Celebrating Linton Briggs AM

Please join us to remember and celebrate the contribution of Linton Briggs AM to the Australian Apiculture Industry. Linton passed away on the 28th of April 2020 and due to Covid 19 restrictions no industry gathering was possible at the time.

Proceedings will also be live streamed for those who are unable to travel.
Linton’s involvement in apiary industry affairs began in 1955 soon after the formation of the North Eastern Apiarists Association (Victoria) and continued through state and federal levels, enduring to his final years in his capacity as a VAA delegate on timber harvesting resource negotiations and as a Board member of the Wheen Bee Foundation.

Linton made substantial contributions to many industry challenges including, national quarantine facilities at Eastern Creek, formulation of public policies for protecting the nectar and pollen resource base for productive beekeeping, the Patterson’s Curse saga, pollination services and the formation and maintenance of industry organisations.
