A new range of jars of 100 per cent pure Australian honey are part of a fundraising initiative that is supporting bee education in schools and helping kids build a lifelong connection to bees and nature.

Each limited-edition jar features one of 23 artworks designed by artists shortlisted in Beechworth Honey’s Pollinate Label Competition. The designs were selected from more than 500 submissions received in August this year and there are just 50 jars of each finalist’s artwork available for purchase.

Each jar costs $100, with 100 per cent of the proceeds being donated to the Wheen Bee Foundation to fund 1,000 Centre for Bee Education Learning Kits for Australian primary schools.

Wheen Bee Foundation CEO Fiona Chambers said that every jar sold will help teach students about bees.

“We are so excited to see this collaboration between Beechworth Honey the Wheen Bee Foundation and the artists that created these beautiful works of art take place,” Ms Chambers said.

“The Learning Kits provided by this initiative will celebrate bees, benefit students and help teachers instil a lifelong passion for bees in the next generation.”

The Centre for Bee Education is a collaboration between Wheen Bee Foundation and Bee School by Beechworth Honey. The Learning Kits equip teachers with student activity worksheets, field guides and more to deliver a full term of science-backed lessons about bees, pollination and biodiversity.

Each kit includes lesson plans for an 11-week unit of work, with resources that enhance the classroom experience, whether it’s books, videos, bee-themed accessories, cards or seeds to plant a pollinator-friendly garden.

All the Centre for Bee Education Learning Kits and resources are linked to the Australian Curriculum and the Victorian Curriculum, making them easy for teachers to integrate into classroom learning.

Anyone who purchases any of The Art of Pollination jars can nominate a school for the chance to receive a Centre for Bee Education Learning Kit.
