The Australian Pollination Strategy Consultation
Have your say on the future of pollination in Australia
Australia’s pollination system underpins food production, biodiversity, ecosystem health and community wellbeing. It is under increasing pressure from climate change, habitat loss, biosecurity risks (including Varroa destructor), declining feral honey bee populations and structural challenges within the beekeeping sector.
The Australian Pollination Security Status Report 2026 is the first national assessment of pollination as an interconnected ecological, agricultural and economic system.
This consultation seeks input from across the pollination system to:
- Test and validate key findings
- Identify gaps in evidence and understanding
- Inform the development of the Australian Pollination Strategy
Open to everyone involved in pollination including, beekeepers, growers, land managers, researchers, industry, government and members of local communities.
Time: ~8–12 minutes
Responses may be summarised in reporting but will not be attributed without consent.
Submissions close on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.
